After listening to the MostlyPhoto podcast (part of Leo Laporte's podcasts) I decided to try an HDR photo. HDR stands for high dynamic range and is meant to augment colours, details, saturation or brightness of a photo. It's most often used to lighten dark areas and the opposite in order to have a more vibrant photo. You basically combine three or more photos with different apertures and mask areas from each you don't want.
Anyway, this being my first I am obviously a complete amateur but here it is! I used a low quality shot, so the result isn't awesome but you can see the difference in the shots. I'll try a "real" one sometime soon. The first one is the original.
In the HDR photo you will see that the church has been lightened and the area of the sky at the right has been darkened a bit to fit the rest of the shot. Nothing great, but I did it in a hurry just to try it out. :)
